Tennessee Children’s Home Dream of Helping Homeless Children in Belo Hoizonte, Brazil Becomes a Reality in 2009.
God has allowed TCH to help brothers and sisters in Belo Horizonte, Brazil to realize a dream they have had for twenty years. That dream was to start a Children’s Home to serve some of the homeless and needy children of their city. The first house, has been completed; and is serving children.
Conrad and Brenda Slate, Jonathan Searcy and Brian King were blessed to visit Brazil again this past July. There was an inauguration ceremony (we would call it an Open House) on Sunday, July 13, at the site of the Children’s Home. Over 500 people attended the ceremony to show their support for this great work. Many of them have volunteered their time to help make that home a reality. Tears of joy were shed by many as they sang and thanked God for the blessing of being able to help the orphans in Belo Horizonte. The brethren are anxious to begin serving children and showing the love of Christ to these precious souls. The Lord willing, four cottages will be built on the site where 60 children can be served.
