Children’s Home of Lubbock Celebrates National Adoption Month in A Big Way!
The Children’s Home of Lubbock will be celebrating National Adoption Month in a BIG way this year. The Children’s Home of Lubbock is currently working with 11 families also helping to give children a forever home. 17 children that were placed in the foster care system in the Lubbock and Amarillo area are going to finalize their adoptions on National Adoption Day! This is a VERY BIG year in our agency for adoptions. We are on target to place at least 34 children into adoptive homes by the end of the year.
As part of the Lubbock Interagency Adoption Council (LIAC); The Children’s Home has recently hosted the area’s annual adoption conference. The annual conference brings in well known experts in the field of adoption to educate our community about the need for adoptive families for the over 6,000 waiting children in the state of Texas.
The Children’s Home will also be participating in LIAC’s annual Adoption Expo being held on Nov. 15th in Lubbock. The Adoption Expo is held in the community as an informational meeting to encourage families considering foster care and adoption to come meet area agency representatives. The Expo will feature a local preacher Justin Quebe that recently adopted a 15 year old girl from foster care. Justin and his daughter will speak about her constant prayer that she would someday be adopted and have a place to call home.
