Agape’s Partners in Service

Agape has many supporters like you. They come in the form of volunteers, donors, service partners, team members, advocates and more. Today, we’d like to highlight just a few of our partners who make it possible for us to serve more than 10,000 children and families in need each year. And, we look forward to shining the spotlight on more of you in future editions.
March of Dimes Awards Grant to Agape’s Families in Transition Program to Support Healthy Children and Families
For the second consecutive year, the Tennessee Chapter of the March of Dimes has awarded a grant to Agape Child & Family Services to support its Families in Transition (FIT) Program. This year’s $20,000 award helps Agape support underserved maternal and child health needs in the Mid-South. This grant will fund enhancements of the FIT program in an effort to optimize quality of services and care for homeless, pregnant and parenting women and their children and is one of many that the March of Dimes awards in pursuit of its mission to prevent birth defects and infant mortality.
“Working to ensure pregnant mothers served through Agape make healthy life choices is our life-long mission” said David Jordan, Executive Director of Agape. “Thanks to the March of Dimes, this funding will contribute to help us address significant maternal and child health issues such as access to care, prenatal support and infant mortality prevention that are of concern in our community. We are exceedingly fortunate to have the support of the March of Dimes and others to improve the health and pregnancy outcomes of some of the most vulnerable women and children in our community.”
The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
