Agape Joins Community Organizations To Decrease Infant Deaths
“Agape has joined with other community organizations in this effort, and we want you to join the cause”
Fact: Shelby County has the highest number of infant deaths in the state of Tennessee.
Fact: You can do something to help (in only 1-2 hours per month!)
How? Over 100 volunteers are needed in the Mid-South to serve on a special task force to help decrease the number of unnecessary infant deaths.
This group, known as the Fetal and Infant Mortality Review, will:
- Examine the significant social, economic, cultural, safety and health systems factors that are associated with fetal and infant mortality through review of individual cases
- Plan a series of interventions and policies that address these factors to improve the service systems and community resources
- Participate in the implementation of community-based interventions and policies
- Assess the progress of those interventions
